To empower young people to become today's and Future Leaders through the delivery to deliver comprehensive, personalized, and holistic youth development services including mentoring.
Our Success
More than 85% of participants in our Leadership Development Academy have enrolled in colleges and universities. We believe the Center has played a significant role in their success by providing a nurturing environment where young people build self-esteem, develop confidence, achieve academic success, strengthen leadership skills, and prepare to become future leaders.
Our History
The Center for Creative Life and Learning, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Howard County, Maryland.
In 2015, the organization launched the Girls on Fire Mentoring, Enrichment, and Leadership Programs to servef girls ages 8–12 in Baltimore City and Columbia, Maryland.
In 2017, the Center expanded its services by establishing the Girls on Fire Leadership Development Academy (LDA)for girls ages 13–17,
In 2023, the Center launched the Boys Becoming Great Men (BBGM) Mentoring Program, providing boys with positive male mentorship, leadership development, life skills, and academic support.
Since 2015, the Center has served more than 400 youth and their families providing mentoring, leadership development, family engagement, and youth wellness programs.
The Center for Creative Life and Learning, Inc. has remained committed to investing in youth by funding many of its initiatives through its own organizational resources, grants from Howard County Government and small grants private-sector donors. These commitments have enabled the Center to expand its impact while continuing to provide comprehensive and holistic services to the youth and families it serves.
Girls on Fire Mentoring and Leadership Programs
The Girls on Fire Mentoring and Leadership Program empowers girls to build self-esteem, confidence, and leadership skills—while strengthening their mental and emotional well-being. In addition provides college and career preparation, and personal development opportunities.The program serves girls 8–17years of age.
Boys Becoming Great Men (BBGM) Mentoring Program
Boys Becoming Great Men (BBGM) Mentoring program serves boys ages 10–15, pairing them with accomplished male mentors who help them build essential life skills, strengthen self-esteem and confidence, and stay on track academically. Through consistent guidance and positive role modeling, participants discover their purpose, set goals, and grow into successful young men.
Mental Health Support Groups
Youth Mental Health Support Services provide a safe, welcoming space where young people can build confidence, strengthen mental and emotional well-being,. Sessions are led by licensed mental health professionals.
Parent Engagement Workshops and Groups
Math Tutoring
Math Made Easy offers personalized one-on-one math tutoring for students ages 8–14. Our experienced tutors use practical problem-solving strategies to strengthen understanding, build skills, and reinforce what students are learning in school.
Youth Advocates Training Initative
